How is The United Kingdom and India connected?

Image
So much learning taking place today. First, the children recapped what they had previously learnt about India and its location.  Then, they predicted what The United Kingdom bought from India. Some great answers, such as curry, metal, coffee and pineapples.  After that, Mrs Gregory had a bag of 5 items which the children had to use to guess what Mrs Gregory predicted. The first item to be brought out of the bag was an aeroplane, then a boat, leaves, a mug and finally a square teabag. this caused much confusion as one child said his mum only has round teabags. 😊 From there they watched a film  showing how tea is made.

Exploring Skara Brae

Image
170 years ago, on an island off the coast of Scotland, a storm came and blew away a large amount of sand... Below the sand, historians were shocked to find a Stone Age village! Year 3 started to explore the artefacts that tell us about what life was like for Neolithic people. The evidence suggests that this people ate fish, made jewelry, kept warm by a fire and even had dogs! Archeologists found ancient dog poo! Yuck. Year 3 were curious to find out why people abandoned Skara Brae. Why would they leave their cosy town behind? Look below to see some of the ideas that Year 3 came up with.
