Year 3 sang their song. They told their partner the story of Jack in the Beanstalk in English. They then listened to the story in French. They then labelled the images using Jack in the beanstalk vocabulary.
This week, Year 3 have been representing and partitioning 2-digit numbers, making sure that our understanding of Place Value is secure and ready to build on in Year 3 and beyond! Please see below for pictures.
This week, Year 3s were welcomed to KS2 History! First things first, we made sure that we understood what historians mean by 'BC' or 'BCE' and 'AD'. To help us to understand, we all made timelines representing events before and after we were born: Next, we thought about some things in History that we know about. Are they 'BC' or 'AD'? Where do they belong on a timeline? Next week, we will begin a brand new unit of learning: Prehistoric Britain!
This week only one class took part in this lesson as all of Year 3 went on a Geography Fieldwork trip to Moors Valley. In the lesson the children identified what came out of a volcano and then they used Google Earth to walk around two volcanoes. Here, they identified the features of a volcano from the last lesson as well as describing what they could see as we walked around the volcanoes.
